The service is also implementing major legislative reform projects. The Senior Solicitor Voluntary Advisory Line is committed to providing high quality supervision of legal volunteers and legal advice. We welcome applications from law students, graduates and legal professionals. Mobilizing legal volunteers to change the lives of those in need « Volunteering at WLSSA has been such a rewarding experience that I will take with me throughout my legal career.
I went into my first shift feeling pretty nervous, but everyone at WLSSA made me feel welcome and gave me the proper support and training I needed to feel confident in my role. I had the opportunity to give general legal information over the phone and make appointments for lawyers. Volunteering at WLSSA is an experience that law school cannot offer, and I am grateful for this opportunity. Do you have a passion for politics, human rights, gender equality and inclusion? Would you like to volunteer at a leading legal centre? Are you a law student in your 3rd year or more? This role works directly with vulnerable and disadvantaged women who access the WLSSA Legal Information Line to seek legal advice or representation. You will volunteer to work in a very supportive environment, closely monitored by experienced lawyers. Looking for a new pro bono opportunity? SALSA offers clinics and limited engagement programs in a variety of areas. Remote support opportunities are available and volunteers have access to training materials and mentoring support. Applications are accepted throughout the year and we will keep your interest for the next admission to come. Are you ready to take on an expanded representation file in your area of expertise? Pro bono cases are referred by SALSA`s Veterans Legal Advice Clinic and our community partner organizations such as Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, ARC San Antonio, and Teleton-USA Children`s Rehabilitation Institute. Please send a CV and cover letter expressing your interest in the program.
If you are interested in volunteering with the Women`s Legal Service (SA), please email your CV and cover letter to admin@wlssa.org.au.
